NEW Omega ATI Catalyst 3.10

edited December 2003 in Science & Tech
A new set of Omega drivers have been released that are based on ATI's Catalyst 3.10 graphics driver suite. Most of the download links over at [link=http://www.omegacorner.com]Omega Corner[/link] seem to be under considerable load at the moment so I've put the files up on the Short-Media server earlier than usual. Enjoy!

[blockquote]What's New?
* Based on the Official Catalyst 3.10 drivers. (2k/XP/9x/ME)
* Fixed the setup issues once and for all by re-writing the ATI setup INIs from scratch. This was tested on a LOT of cards and they worked perfectly, if you still have problems please E-Mail me.(2k/XP/9x/ME)
* Updated the profiler utility to the latest version with OC support included. (2k/XP)
* Removed RadClocker from the package (petition by the author). (2k/XP/9x/ME)
* Added the STRETCH screen option for Digital Flat Panel monitors and laptops. (2k/XP/9x/ME)
* Added support for HDTV resolutions. (2k/XP/9x/ME)
* Changed some of the default Omega settings. (2k/XP/9x/ME)
* Fixed the Dual Monitor/ATI Control Panel problems. (2k/XP/9x/ME)
* Added 1400x1050@60Hz for FPD monitors and laptops. (2k/XP/9x/ME)

IMPORTANT NOTE: This set will be my LAST set of drivers for Win9x/ME, I suggest to everybody who still uses 9x/ME as their OS to think about upgrading, there are MANY advantages going up to XP. Also, don't E-Mail me about this matter, I will NOT answer.[/blockquote]

Anybody use these? Just curious if they are any better than the standard ATI drivers....

Slightly better image quality; slightly slower than the stock.

These drivers are really nothing you can't do yourself with a copy of Rage3D Tweak; but for simplicity's sake, these aren't bad.

Think I'll just stay with the 3.1s..considering I just reinstalled Windows onto a RAID array with a new 9800 Pro.

    Thrax,
what do you recommend to attempt overclocking a FIC 9800 Pro? Powerstrip? Or something else?

I would use Rage3D Tweak, as it provides overclocking function as well as driver-tweaking options all in one easy package.

It integrates itself into the Radeon driver control panel as a new set of tabs, it's pretty handy.
