Desktop organization/productivity programs

Hello,
I've been looking for some programs to customize my desktop. I'm a bit of a neat freak when it comes to my rig. I'm one of those guys who can't stand having icons on his desktop and I'm always looking for the next ObjectDock or RocketDock.
I'm specifically looking for programs that will allow me to embed a calendar/appointments/due dates, perhaps even the weather into my desktop. Stuff of that nature. I've had a hard time really finding much on download.com or maybe I'm just not looking hard enough. If anybody has any suggestions for a WindowBlinds type program I'd love to hear it as well. I figured I've venture out of the virus and hardware forums and see what else the great icrontic forums have to offer.
I apologize if this is the wrong forum. A lot of these threads seem to be problems, so if I'm out of place just move this to where ever is appropriate.
