i'm wanting to get a mouse for my MSI Wind miniNotebook... i'm thinking of getting a bluetooth mouse, but i'm just curious if it's better to get a USB one...
which option would save me more power? USB or Bluetooth?
I don't think power is much of an issue, except with the batteries in the mouse itself. I can't see either device significantly impacting your laptops battery life. Maybe there's something I don't know, but I don't think you should worry.
I'm a fan of the Logitech VX Nano mouse, though it can be a bit pricey. Battery in the mouse itself can last 6 months with normal use.
As far as system power usage, generally speaking, Bluetooth > RF > wired in terms of power usage, unless things have significantly improved recently. (By greater than, I mean that it bluetooth uses more than RF, etc.)
I just got my first gaming mouse (Razer Diamondback) after using those POS microsoft ones my whole life. I'm never going back to a standard mouse again. It's so smooth and is awesome for gaming. It just feels more fluid and accurate. Too bad they don't make a wireless version otherwise I'd say go for it.

One of my friends has this mouse. He seems to like it a lot, plus it's 1600 DPI which is higher than most "basic" models. It's a little on the pricey side, but then again it's also better than your standard optical mouse.
