New NEC 8x DVD-R and DVD+R now available!

edited December 2003 in Hardware
I'm very glad that Newegg was out of stock of the NEC 1300-A (the 4x burner) so now I can pick up the new 8x. As of now it seems Livewarehouse and ewiz have it (Livewarehouse) so I'm thinking of waiting for the egg to start carrying it. The burner comes in black to boot and on top of that it's only $136 at Livewarehouse. The 4x version has gotten real good reviews at dvdrhelp. 8x media is now starting to come about and some 4x media is capable of burning at 8x. Thought some of you might find this to be welcoming news. -DaK

I was seriously contemplating the same thing until I read their reseller ratings comments. Apparently they're a good place to buy from unless you need to RMA something, in which case it's damn near impossible. I don't want to chance something like this with a place like that.

That's basically my experience with them. I bought a 9500 from them a while ago, and it had a damaged RAM module. I sent it in, and for the next month, I heard nothing. After harassing them for a few weeks, they finally refunded my money...prolly won't ever buy from them again
