HELP!!

I get this message when I try to access certain wbesites.

"ocget.dll...Windows has blocked this software because it can't verify the publisher"

It asks me if I want to install it I say "Yes" but it doesn't do anything.

I've read throguht the Microsoft fix for this, but there is someting missing.

If I follow the MS directions and blank out the CodBaseSearchPath I cannot install ActiveX controls at all.

Does anyone here have real solution for this error?

Thanks

Have you tried to lower the internet security settings? If it's set to High, it will block the unknown publisher ActiveX... Set it to medium and try it... if it works, you should be able to raise it back to where it was before...

Also, have you tried to add the publisher's website to the "Trusted Sites" list?

I searched my PC and did not find ocget.dll anywhere.... Weird.

You could try re-registering the dll...

    regsvr32 ocget.dll

OK... how about Internet Options> Advanced tab> Security sub-section> Check the "Allow Software to Run and Install Even If The Signature Is Invalid"?

Maybe even follow this guys recommendation...

Go to Start > Run, and type:

    cmd <enter>

    At the command prompt, type:

    ren %systemroot%\system32\catroot2\Edb.log *.tst <enter>

Check that the Cryptographic Service is set to Automatic.
If that doesn't work, run each of these commands from a command prompt:

    net stop cryptsvc
    ren %systemroot%\System32\Catroot2 oldcatroot2
    net start cryptsvc
    exit
If that doesn't work, try these from a command prompt:

    regsvr32 /u softpub.dll
    regsvr32 /u wintrust.dll
    regsvr32 /u initpki.dll
    regsvr32 /u dssenh.dll
    regsvr32 /u rsaenh.dll
    regsvr32 /u gpkcsp.dll
    regsvr32 /u sccbase.dll
    regsvr32 /u slbcsp.dll
    regsvr32 /u mssip32.dll
    regsvr32 /u cryptdlg.dll
    exit<!-- google_ad_section_end -->
    </enter></enter>
