Taking a lappy apart

I have seen a website that had pictures and step by step instructions for taking many different lap tops apart. Now I can't find it.

My daughter has damaged her NEW Toshiba. Did I mention that she is in Europe at this time (and I am not).

Hey, anyone near Masstricht that is good with hardware?
I am trying to sort out if it is repairable.

If I can't get it apart or it is fried then she will have to live with a Wind.

    Toshiba model?

They don't have a link to a downloadable service guide?

Living with a Wind doesn't sound too terrible. ;)

What kind of damage did it sustain? My ex-wife spilled an entire 8 ounce glass of apple juice through her old Toshiba laptop and it survived, albeit with a few permanently sticky keys. I've also heard of the power jacks coming loose from the motherboard pretty commonly in Toshibas, much like the Dell that Q helped me with a while back. That's repairable, but intense.

Have her ship it back and have it fixed then ship it back? Is that an option?

It is a Satellite Pro U400.

I don't think that it is fully dry yet.
It is under warr. and the coverage in international.
She will take it in and see what they say.

It boots to the windows splash before it barfs. I am guessing that the mobo is fine.
It sounds like drivers won't load. Could be a system file issue.
She backs up everything a couple of times a week. It is nice to have a daughter that is tech savvy.

Damage from liquid is not normally covered on basic warranty.

standard warranty usually excludes liquid damages... a reinstallation will tell if it's a driver issue (or restore)...
