I'm hopefully not going too far offbase by saying that Capcom is a great company in terms of dealing with its fans. Obviously, we fans at OC ReMix being tapped to create Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix's soundtrack is one aspect of that. But Eddie Lebron's Mega Man movie trailer is another that'll be promoted sooner rather than later on the company's blog, Capcom Unity.
It's one thing for a company to pass stuff around its office, but it's another to actively harness the power of fan-created content to connect with fans and help drive one's business.
Ultimately, I'm excited both at the base standard of quality of fan content increasing as well as the doors that opens for fans into the professional realm. As the line between pros and fans continues to blur thanks to advances in technology, it'll the be savy companies with their ear to the ground who make the most of what fans like us can offer!
I actually auditioned to do some voicework for that movie several months ago. :o All I had to go by were some stills, it's pretty cool to see it in action.
Low-budget? Yes. Hokey? Yes. Will I watch it? Yes.
