Barebone or Case?

Hi Everyone,

I am intending on bulding a new media centre/File server at home. I have already decided on the basic architecture etc for the setup but I am undecided on the hardware. I have an old AMD rig which will do the job I belive it is an ASUS A8N7X-E and an Athlon 2800+ with Barton. 1GB of Kingston 400MHz and an ATI Radion (can't remember the chipset of the top of my head). Its not fantastic spec but as a file server and media centre it should do the job.

Unfortunately I have no case. So here is my quandry. Should I simply buy a new case (if so which) or I have been looking at the idea of a barebone system. I dont want mega cooling as the PC spec is not that high and it wont be doing huge amounts of processing. I basically want something that is small looks good and is quiet.

Here are my thoughts so far.

Im currently leaning towards the last one but any other idea would be great.

The last one you linked was the C37B, but we just did a review of the C36 if you're interested (I'm sure they're 95% similar). I hope that's helpful.

As far as the Skeleton is concerned, I guess it depends what kind of visual impact you're trying to make. If you want the media PC to blend in, it's clearly not the option. If you want people to comment on it though (and you have room for it since I don't think you can slide it under your DVD player), then it's your best bet.
