spyware / trojan I think!!!

I am having a problem connecting to certain websites (mainly anti spyware, avg etc)
I can connect to the rest of the internet OK, but can't seem to fix the problem. Also, MBAM will not run (it produces an egg timer, then does nothing)

Any advice would be gratefully received

Many Thanks

Hello and welcome to the forums

My name is DeFe and I will be helping you to remove any infection(s) that you may have.

Please observe these rules while we work:

    1. Please Read All Instructions Carefully
    2. If you don't understand something, stop and ask! Don't keep going on.
    3. Please do not run any other tools or scans whilst I am helping you
    4. Please continue to respond until I give you the "All Clear"
(Just because you can't see a problem doesn't mean it isn't there)

If you can do those few things, everything should go smoothly

    Hi

We will begin with ComboFix.exe. Please visit this webpage for download links, and instructions for running the tool:

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/comb...o-use-combofix

Please ensure you read this guide carefully and install the Recovery Console first.

The Windows Recovery Console will allow you to boot up into a special recovery (repair) mode. This allows us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware. It is a simple procedure that will only take a few moments of your time.

Once installed, you should see a blue screen prompt that says:

The Recovery Console was successfully installed.

    Please continue as follows:
    1. Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.
    2. Click Yes to allow ComboFix to continue scanning for malware.
When the tool is finished, it will produce a report for you.

Please include the following reports for further review, and so we may continue cleansing the system:

    C:\ComboFix.txt
    New HijackThis log.

Hi, I have put combofix on the desktop and followed the instructions for creating "Recovery console", but it comes up with a message "Setup was unable to reach the Microsoft Windows Update Web site because it is currently unavailable.

What do you want to do next?
Try Connecting to the web site again
Skip this step and continue installing windows"

As an extra piece of information, prior to being in contact with you, I have tried the windows update site and found it to be redirected.

Just want to make absolutely sure what I should do from here.

I will do nothing and await your reply.

    Many thanks for your help

    Phil
