Cant Speak Geek
jaan-jaak

Now im not a "TECH" person at all.
I have been given the title "Techno Grim Reaper" from a few of my friends because when i come in contact with any technology, it seems to die. No jokes. I have killed my pc a few times, my cell phone, 2 of my friends pc's always crash when im working with it and my varsity mac sparks when i use it, yes sparks.
For some time now my pc at home has been giving me MAJOR issues and no one seem to know whats wrong.
Thus me joining this site in hope that some smart person out there in this grate big world of ours can might help me with a few issues or might explain to me what it means when the issues i speak of happens.
Issue 1:
When i restart my pc weird digits appear in the corner of my screen before windows run (its still a black screen...) it has the digits and a flashing white line below it. I then press any key and it continues.
Issue 2:
Same place as the above mentuned problem but this time it says "A disk read error occured, press Ctr+Alt+Del to restart."
When i do that my pc get stuck and it says (after it has been restarted) "3Rd Master Hard Disk : S.M.A.R.T. command failed press F1 to resume."
When i d that it goes to "A disk read error occured, press Ctr+Alt+Del to restart." again, so its a never ending cycel of issues until my pc desides to work and skip it all.
Issue 3:
For some weird ass reason my pc is lagging BIG time. I have 2gig ram and lately my pc would just freez and lag the whole time (when music plays it will get stuck on that xsact part of the song and loop it, NOISE FORM HELL IF YOU ASK ME!) then only after a few mins it will de freez and continue working but then i have to not have any running apps open and thats not gane help me at all...
So if anyone have any advice or knows what the issues is please can you help me or just let me know what it is so that i can take it ferther.
Contact me at jeanjacques.rossouw AT gmail.com or just reply to the threat i guess.
Thx Yall.

This problem is likely causing problem 3. This means your hard drive is failing, and you need to replace it. If you have multiple hard drives, it may be more difficult to determine which one is failing.
Cool thx for the info.
Not grate info but atleast it is info :P
Kinda like hearing you gane die in 2 weeks after Dr. could not figuer out whats wrong with you for a year...
I have 2 drives C & D and all my "work" is on the d and all system sht and programs on c...so i assume the issue is on C.
Thx tho.
Dont really know but when i checked my Device Manager it said "HDT72251 6DLA380 SCSI Disk Device, ST350032 0AS SCSI Disk Device"
so if that makes sence to you then there you go if not sorry i dont know.
Is there any way to check without opening the box?
There are plenty of deals on hard drives these days. You need to buy a new drive and decide if you want to:
1) reinstall windows and all your programs and copy the files over
2) create a duplicate of your drive onto a new drive.
either of them have their (dis)advantages, but if you haven't re-installed recently, i'd suggest option 1.
