XBMC is fantastic and I run it on my modded first gen xbox (xbox media center - XBMC - GET IT ).
However due to it's lack of TV tuner support, it's hard for them to be a complete media center solution.
If you love the idea and look of XBMC but want TV tuner support, look into MediaPortal. Its more-or-less a XBMC clone but with more features including tivo-like functionality
