Help me decide: laptop options...

Two laptops are the same price, and same manufacturer.

Configurations (only differences listed)

Laptop 1:
Core2Duo T5750, 2GHz, 667MHz FSB
2GB DDR2 667
NVIDIA GeForce Go 8600M GTS 256MB

Laptop 2:
Core2Duo T5800, 2GHz, 800MHz FSB
4GB DDR3 1066
NVIDIA GeForce 9300M 256MB
HDMI Output

Help me decide between them! This is going to replace both my current laptop and my desktop. I'll use it for everything, including moderate gaming (Oblivion has so far been the most graphically intense game I've played).

That's the way I was leaning anyway... but what factors make you say #2?

    The DRAM. :)

The first one would handle games better, would it not?

Overall performance, definitely number 2, the 9300 will slack in performance a bit though.

The second.... faster FSB means it will use faster memory which means better Vista scores. Also... #2 has 4 GB of ram. The video should be OK for what you want. ;)

    #2 is my vote

    reasons:
    FASTER FSB
    FASTER DRAM
    MORE DRAM

These factors will make the machine noticeably faster than #1.

Yer, NVIDIA GeForce 9300M 256MB can run Oblivion on medium-high settings.

So I agree with everyone here. :P
