Trojans/Spyware/Mirar Toolbar? Need Help Please.

Hi and Thanks in advance for any help you can give me. My computer is going really slow and it seems to keep coming back. I have ran Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0, Ad-Aware 2008 and Spybot S&D, they have found and cleaned various things seperately but it doesnt seem to be going away. I still have pop-ups and problems. My Windows Update has been disabled, Internet Explorer is unusable, when I open it it freezes up and lots of pop-ups come up. It has a Mirar toolbar that I didnt install and it seems to be one of the problems and I cant seem to uninstall it. Kaspersky keeps finding the same looking trojan in different forms, they have in common "//PE_Patch.UPX". My computer shuts down randomly. Any help would be appreciated.

Here's my HJT log:

It seems I had forgot to update the Malwarebytes program when I installed it, after it had scanned my computer I ran the update program again just to make sure and it found more updates. So after it updated I ran the program again and it cleaned 6 more things. Also my Windows Updates are back and working, hope were almost back to normal. Here are the logs after the update and scan.

    Hi,

    Please do the following...

1 Your Java is out of date. Older versions have vulnerabilities that malware can use to infect your system. Follow these steps to remove older versions of Java components and update to the latest version...

Please download JavaRa and unzip it to your desktop.

***Please close any instances of Internet Explorer (or other web browser) before continuing!***
    • Double-click on JavaRa.exe to start the program.
    • From the drop-down menu, choose English and click on Select.
    • JavaRa will open; click on Remove Older Versions to remove the older versions of Java installed on your computer.
    • Click Yes when prompted. When JavaRa is done, a notice will appear that a logfile has been produced. Click OK.
    • A logfile will pop up. Please save it to a convenient location.
Now download and install Java SE Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 10.

    2. Open HijackThis
    - Click the Do a system scan only button
    - Check the following entries (below)

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {31B2EFEE-DF5C-4F0E-98B7-0B3238DCF38E} - (no file)
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {6ea296d9-3d67-4602-bf2f-b7c68c26e431} - (no file)
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {9AADE503-CC7E-DF55-235D-D6521C53D80C} - (no file)
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {AC5F7721-D73A-449F-9DE3-E111405B29B1} - (no file)

    - Close ALL open windows (especially Internet Explorer!)
    - Click Fix Checked
    Close HiajckThis

    3. Download ComboFix from one of these locations:

    Link 1
    Link 2
    Link 3

    * IMPORTANT!!! Save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop
    • Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools See HERE for help

    • Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.

    • As part of it's process, ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed. With malware infections being as they are today, it's strongly recommended to have this pre-installed on your machine before doing any malware removal. It will allow you to boot up into a special recovery/repair mode that will allow us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware.

    • Follow the prompts to allow ComboFix to download and install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console, and when prompted, agree to the End-User License Agreement to install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console.
**Please note: If the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is already installed, ComboFix will continue it's malware removal procedures.
    RcAuto1.gif

Once the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed using ComboFix, you should see the following message:

    whatnext.png

Click on Yes, to continue scanning for malware.

When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply.

I know you have Kaspersky on your computer but I'd like a scan from its online scanner...

Please do an online scan with Kaspersky WebScanner

    Click on Kaspersky Online Scanner

You will be promted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.

Note for Internet Explorer 7 users: If at any time you have trouble with the accept button of the licence, click on the Zoom tool located at the right bottom of the IE window and set the zoom to 75 %. Once the license accepted, reset to 100%.
    • The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
    • Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT
    • Now click on Scan Settings
    • In the scan settings make that the following are selected:
      • Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
      • Extended (if available otherwise Standard)
      • Scan Options:
      • Scan Archives
        Scan Mail Bases
    • Click OK
    • Now under select a target to scan:
      • Select My Computer
    • This will program will start and scan your system.
    • The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run.
    • Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
      • Now click on the Save Report As button:
      • Change Save as type: to Text file
      • Save this as Kaspersky scan to your Desktop
    • Post the Kaspersky report in your next reply.

    Hi,

Can you post a new HijackThis log and let me know how the computer is running please.
  • edited December 2008
Hi again, my computer was/maybe is working normal and great again. But my sister tried to plug in her USB memory stick and it tried to install the virus back on my computer again. Apparently she saved her work on it while my computer was infected. The Kaspersky security blocked and deleted it but I think something may be still wrong. Sometimes Kaspersky messes up and says the database is corrupt and other times it just shuts all the protection down, then I update it and it seems fine again. Its happened like 4 times after my sister plugged in her USB, is it due to possible infection or just maybe I need to reinstall it? Also everything I start my computer it says that zHotkey has messed up and has to close but I think that might be because my brother might have tried to uninstall it and messed it up. Other than that my computer seems to be back to normal and running smoothly. Is there a way to disinfect the USB stick?
