I Have a Gateway MX6938m (Laptop), I was Told that to be Able to Install WinXP Pro SP2 I Needed to Update The BIOS, Do The Fact that The Factory Installed BIOS Disables The Option to.

I was Flashing The BIOS, The Battery was Unplugged, I was Working on AC Power, There was a Blackout, The Next Thing I Know When I Turn The Power On, is that The Screen Remains Black, it doesn't Boot Up, but it Reads The DVD-ROM and Starts The Fan.

What can be Done at This Point...? Is it Possible to Create a Bootable CD or USB Flash, so I can Set The BIOS Files There and Start The Thing...?

- Any Help Will be Appreciated.

OUCHY.... From what I know of BIOS flashing, which is quite extensive.... you're screwed. :(

You need to find a Electronics guy that can take the laptop apart and attempt to desolder the ROM chip and flash it manually ans solder it back in... We use to have a guy here at Icrontic that did these things. Anyone remember who it was?

Wake On Lan allows you to remotely boot a computer by sending a special type of internet traffic to a computer capable of receiving it.

USB FDD Boot Support allows a computer to boot from a floppy disk in a floppy drive connected via USB.
