adaware crashes and relentless firefox popups

Hey all,

I am a student in the middle of finals and this is severely hindering my studying and paper writing. Hopefully, you can help me.

Here is the issue.

My computer has been running slowly for a while. I'm Ok with that, but in the past week, when I have been using firefox, new tabs are opening up to various sites, most often when I perform and kind of search on any kind of website...be it google, your forums, facebook, the library, etc. The sites that come up are sites like abcjmp.com, current-search.com, ilclick.epilot.com, etc.

I try to run Ad-aware, but it crashes everytime. It gives me this message and then goes to an empty results page. The message:

aawservice.exe experienced an unhandled exception and was forced to close.

Spy-bot finds nothing, nor does my anti-virus, I have tried using CWshredder, and it finds nothing. This includes both in normal running and in safe mode.

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop.

• Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
• At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to:
  • Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
  • Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
• Then click Finish.
• If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
• Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
• When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
• Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
• When completed, a log will open in Notepad. please copy and paste the log into your next reply with a fresh HijackThis log.
• If you accidently close it, the log file is saved here and will be named like this: C:\Documents and Settings\<your username>\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs\mbam-log-date (time).txt

We will begin with ComboFix.exe. Please visit this webpage for download links, and instructions for running the tool:

Please ensure you read this guide carefully and install the Recovery Console first.

The Windows Recovery Console will allow you to boot up into a special recovery (repair) mode. This allows us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware. It is a simple procedure that will only take a few moments of your time.

Once installed, you should see a blue screen prompt that says:

The Recovery Console was successfully installed.

Please continue as follows:

1. Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.
2. Click Yes to allow ComboFix to continue scanning for malware.

When the tool is finished, it will produce a report for you.

Please include the following reports for further review, and so we may continue cleansing the system:
