Outlook express

I need help with a small problem. I can not delete a file from my outlook express, evertime I try to open or delete it bang! it locks up the system. It only does it on one email the rest open and delete ok.:mad:

    Can you not track it down and delete it in safe mode?

    Been awhile since I've had to fix up OE so I'm a little rusty. But one trick that sometimes works is to just drag the email into drafts, reopen OE and then try and delete the email. Usually what happens is that the database for a given folder gets corrupted.

    Another more draconian method is to export the folder with the broken email to your desktop for example using the export tools in OE. Then close outlook go into "documents and settings\{username}\local settings\application data\Identities\{the identity}\Microsoft\Outlook Express\ and delete the specific .dbx folder that is giving you the problem.

    Then open OE again and recreate the folder and then import your exported emails back into it.
