how do I connect my laptop to TV

I have a vista laptop, what do I need to hook up the monitor on my laptop to display on the TV?

    What are the available outputs on the laptop and the inputs on the television? If you're not sure you can give us the model numbers of both.

    Laptop is a Dell inspiron 1525
    TV is a Sylvania CRT TV

    How old is the TV? Do you know the model?

    Do you still have the manual? If you do, see if it has an "S-Video" input.

    Im not sure how old it is, its my roomates (dorm room) not sure of the model. It doesnt have an S video input, only has the red green white input...
