512 GB is enough capacity, now they need to make them fast and reliable for long term data storage, and a significant speed increase for best gaming performance.

I've only heard of them being made in laptop-size 2.5" hard drive dimensions. Why not make them in desktop size 3.5" hard drive dimensions, extra capacity will be easier then.

    1) They're already more reliable than mechanical drives.
    2) They're already faster than mechanical drives.
    3) Increasing the enclosure to 3.5" dimensions will not increase capacity. The 2.5" form factor must be used to achieve the circuit density necessary to oblige #2.
