Not only that, but one guy seems to think AMD will file for bankruptcy sometime this year. Lets hope that they emerge from CH11 a stronger company if it does happen.

I was worried about AMD but not anymore. With the recent restructuring, they are in a much better position. They are leaner and meaner and I think they'll have a much better year this year.

I think intel will have some big problems. They will have to throttle down production where as AMD is already at rock bottom. All AMD has to is take a little market share from intel this year.

Bang for buck, AMD will be a better buy and people will be looking for it.

AMD is in a good place, but they're a very long way away from being a better for buy dollar for dollar.

We will have to see Thrax. My thinking is, most of AMD phenom 2's quad cores will be below 200 before the end of spring. Amd chipsets are cheaper than intels. AMD can also work deals out with getting video cards and onboard video at a good price point.

You factor all that in and roll it up to a 500.00 pc and you'll end up with a quadcore system that'll beat a core duo system in a good bit of areas.

The only thing AMD has to do, which it never has done before, is do some good continuous marketing.

Intel's total system cost for their bang is not cheap. Bang is great, cheaper is where it's at right now.
