Hello everyone down here in the virus and spyware section-

I've been having some problems with my computer lately, probably because I'm super smart, and I decided to ignore my AVG telling me repeatedly that it had a problem and couldn't update, and hence find out about new evil viruses that are out to kill my computer. I started getting random popups lately, which caused me to examine AVG, and finally find this out. I fixed the problem with the AVG and ran it, and it found and destroyed several viruses. I also ran spybot, which also found a few viruses and spyware, before asking me to reboot. I did so, and now when not in safe mode, I can't do anything. I get an hourglass when I hover over the start bar, and none of the icons or ctrl alt delete work. I also now have a lovely new icon on my desktop called "Best BDSM porn" and I'm still getting various popups.

    I have some new symptoms now- Twice when trying to enter L4D servers last night my computer restarted itself, and later on, when I was trying to get onto facebook and had no games running, the computer froze. I turned it off and restarted it, and I got a "your computer has recovered from a serious error" message, but all microsoft could tell me when I reported it was that I had had a "blue screen error from a driver or device" I don't know if it matters, but I never actually saw a blue screen.

    I think that in addition to spyware/virus problems, you have some screwy issues with your video card, very possibly a dying video card.

    Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

    Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop.

    • Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
    • At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to
      • Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
      • and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
    • then click Finish.
    • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
    • Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
    • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
    • Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
    • When completed, a log will open in Notepad. please copy and paste the log into your next reply
    • If requested, please reboot
      • If you accidently close it, the log file is saved here and will be named like this:
      • C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs\mbam-log-date (time).txt

    • You must download it to and run it from your Desktop
    • Now STOP all your monitoring programs (Antivirus/Antispyware, Guards and Shields) as they could easily interfere with ComboFix.
    • Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
    • When finished, it will produce a log. Please save that log to post in your next reply
    • Re-enable all the programs that were disabled during the running of ComboFix..

    Thank you Katana, but I've been having so many problems now- the computer is restarting randomly all the time and now claims that the internet isn't working when it is, that I'm just going to go ahead and do a wipe and reload windows. It's time for it anyways. I'm hoping that that will solve the problems, and that I don't have a bad video card or something else in there somewhere. I already ran memtest, so that's okay. Thank you so much for your help though (and primesuspects too!) I really appreciate it.

    It's your choice, but if it is a malware problem then I can cure it without you having to reinstall everything
    99.9% of the time anyway :)
