Safe Mode - white screen - "found new hardware"

i got this computer and the power supply was burnt up i chaged it out and was cleaning things out of my docs. i shut down and now it tells me that windows found new hardware. and it only lets me see a screen that is white and is in safe mode oh the new hardware is on of my drives not sure which one it is what can i do to fix this problem?

    logon in safemode (by pressing F8 just as wndows is starting)
    and logon as the administrator. Does that work?
