Pivot screen problem

edited January 2009 in Hardware
I have a dell inspiron 6000 with an ATI mobility radeon x300 graphics card. I just purchased an HP w2207 monitor to use as a dual setup. The monitor can pivot and I really want to use this feature. The hp MyDisplay software doesn't work b/c it doesn't recognize the hp monitor is connected - even if I change it to be the primary display (I've read MyDisplay is full of bugs and gimpy anyway).

I tried the rotate feature through the ATI tabs in the advanced section of display settings to no avail.

I downloaded iRotate and tried that as well. Get the same visual effect as using the ATI tab rotate feature - assume iRotate just simplifies the interface to that functionality.

Can anyone help so I don't have to buy a new graphics card??

the ati driver should allow you to rotate the image if you look. though it won't do it automatically if that is what you are wanting.
