CD Burning???

Hi Guys,

I am a working DJ and in todays digital era the most DJs buy their music from online download sites and burn it to CD. I have to take my own CD deck to the Bar to use and I have recently been having problems with CDs skipping. Last night was one of the worst I have had for a while. I know it happens more in the winter if I leave my deck in the car as it gets cold and then condensation builds up on the laser and the CDs and I think I may need a ned laser mech which I am in the process of ordering.

However I wondered if it was possible that the software could cause problems? I was advised not to use my laptop as they often cause problems but I would think the software could make a difference to. I have been using Media Player to Burn. In most cases you wouldn'r even notice the skip as it is so small but when I am beat matching that skip throws the mix right out of time and I just look stupid!!! I have also tried several different CD media too but that doesn't seem to make a difference. I just really wanted some opinion as to what burners people use and which are suppose to be good?

Maybe the burner is going bad? I know that has happened to me when a drive was failing. Try burning the same disc on another computer with your own media and if you can, the same program.
