USB Device Not Recognized

Hello guru's. I have come across a problem that is going to drive me insane. I can not get any usb ports to operate. No matter what I plug in I get the "USB Device Not Recognized". I updated the Bios, Chipset, rolled back SP 3 to SP2, removed and reinstalled all usb hubs and controllers from the Device Manager and now I am at a loss.
OS is XP Home with SP2 currently.
What am I missing? :hair:

Okay, if that didn't work, one of these solutions should do the trick: http://www.hat.net/geeky/node/221

Thank you Thrax. I wish I could say that worked but I am still stuck. I can't even get a usb keybord to work. Do you think if I did a repair install of windows would correct the problem?

It's very likely that it would, yes. Repair installs fix a great many things.
