Stop: 0x0000008e (0xc0000005, 0xee37721d, 0xebc45784, 0x00000000)

Hi there,
I'm new to this site but it looks like a great resource!
I logon to my Windows system and when I try to click on an icon I receive and error message and the Blue Screen of Death.

:grumble:

The error message is:

STOP: 0X0000008E (0XC0000005, 0XEE37721D, 0XEBC45784, 0X00000000)

Please advise me on this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Happy Friday!

Is there a .SYS file referenced in blue screen? About 2/3 of the way down the page?

Have you verified that your system memory is functioning correctly?

it seems like a software conflict....internet explorer i think 1386 related or something if you reinstall and start fresh it would be much easier or try your windows xp cd.

If you can bring the machine up in safe mode see if you can uninstall Spy Sweeper as that is where that sys file is "supposedly" from...

Failing that follow Thrax's Excellent guide here:
