    OI, they drop, then AMD drops, and then we are in the same boat. Just happier pockets :)

    That's how it works. AMD comes out with something new (in this case, the Phenom II), and Intel drops the price of its existing chips to keep them competing.

    Later on this year, Intel will release new chips, and AMD will drop the prices on all of its other chips.

    It's the nature of the beast.

    Personally, I wouldn't mind picking up a Quad-core for this system on the cheap. The little E7200 runs like a champ, but I'm always game for more grunt.

    ...that, sure. Moreso pumping out chips like crazy to meet a demand that absolutely dried up, leaving them in the huge hole they're in now. Same reason why consumer level i7's have been delayed.
