WoW on widescreen vs 4:3 monitors?
I'm thinking of picking up a 22" widescreen monitor at 1680 X 1050 to replace my older Syncmaster 204B which plays WoW at 1600 X 1200.
I was researching monitors on google, and found some WoW forum posts arguing that a widescreen monitor resolution actually cuts off more of the picture at the top and bottom than it adds on the left and right sides.
Has anyone here played WoW on widescreen on both types of monitors, and what do you think of the differences?

Nothing in WoW happens above you anyhow. The game's action is 99% horizontal. Widescreen wins for WoW and anything else.
So when I play WoW on my laptop, what I see there should be identical to what the 1680 X 1050 would give me, except larger, right?
siruispernot - my new pc has a 4870 graphics card, FPS in WoW is no longer a concern!
But less pixels sounds like a step in the wrong direction. I'd go with a 1920 X 1200 24" monitor but they cost twice as much as a 22".
But, yes, it'll be the same but bigger.
