Ok so I have seen this a few places before but finally got to see some real-time in game graphics last weekend and ever since then i have been totally stoked about this game! Finally a air to air combat game for the PC! Steam will sell it and release is early march. It looks freaking awesome, and the best part is you wont need 3x 280GTX's for HD! Here are some links for those interested...

What's terribly frustrating about the statement is that years ago we would all be saying 'eh great, ANOTHER air to air combat game for the PC.' Not that it was a bad thing, the PC platform has seen MANY great flight sims, and is without a doubt THE platform for playing said sims.
But we haven't seen a large release for a long time. The last major release was IL2 Sturmovik, and I was still in highschool when that came out. I think that was 2002... I love flight sims. This statistic breaks my heart.
And now that we're finally getting a new one, it's an arcade-style 3rd person flight 'sim'.
/facepalm.
I miss the good old days.
Don't mind me, I'm a sim geezer wishing for the days of old.
What are you missing, exactly?
Gotta be up front though, the plot/writing/dialogue just plain sucks. Standard U MUST SAEV AMERUKIA!1! tripe with an infuriating number of unskippable cutscenes featuring the most patronising 'advice' possible from your comrades and a ton of needy escorts who'll cry relentlessly down the radio if you leave hand holding range.
That said, the satisfaction of diving to within feet of the ground before pulling up directly under your enemy to deliver a double helping of FUCKYOU makes it all worthwhile.
I bought it a couple of days ago (retail) and have hardly put it down.
