Installing a new SATA drive with problems

I just got a 160GB Samsung SP1614C SATA harddrive. The system POST's fine and dandy but i'm getting stuck at the "press del to entering bios blah" black screen. Can't do jack. No overclock or anything. I have tried to remove all other SATA and IDE stuff. Same thing. Pops back the Raptor and all is fine and dandy. I would understand if the system wouldn't post but this just beats me.

That's just your computer's way of telling you that it's the end of the year, and that you shouldn't be putting any strange devices into it just yet.

It would be more than happy to welcome the foreign devil at the beginning of 2004 :buck:

Any jumpers on the drive? Are they set correctly.

I know my NF7-S wont accept older WD drives but your Samsung is brand new. So I'd think that if its not something obvious like jumper settings then you may have to try a different bios or await a new bios if its an incompatability problem.

You have to make sure that with any sata hard drive they're set to master, and I know that will cause problems because I just went through it a couple days ago.

    DanG,

I'd love to se that SATA disk and ESPECIALLY the SATA port that you can use as both master and slave. Dan, SATA is always and always be single port only.

Jimbo, i just updated to the new 21D.

The Bios is 21D, the modded one. By EQuito himself.
Doesn't matter though, my other sata disk (raptor) works as charm.
