    Eagerly awaiting some benchmarks/performance data on these. AMD did a great job with dual-channel and integrated memory controllers. I'm hoping they do as well with three-channel and start giving Intel a proper run again.

    The Phenom II and the Core i7 already have vastly more bandwidth they can use on dual channel and/or DDR2 configurations. This will push the Phenom a few percentage points ahead in applications that are particularly cycle-sensitive, but it won't be anything to write home about.

    AMD is firmly #2 until Bulldozer. God help them if that chip is mediocre too.

    Well, if there was an appropriate name for what their processor-to-take-down-Intel is to be named, that's it.

    Let's hope it does. I was a fan of the hammer line, too. When I saw that Opterons were being labeled Sledgehammer, I had to get a pair.

    Amd seems to be having a little tick tock going on in their gpu's and their CPU's.

    26XX's Kinda sucked
    38XX's aye, Not bad
    48XX's Nice


    Phenom's, kinda sucked
    Phenom II's. aye, not bad..
