Asus Q-fan control or lack of......

edited December 2003 in Hardware
I have a asus A7N8X-E motherboard with the asus q-fan control. No matter what settings I use in the setup I can not get my fans to run at max rpm. If I select "full speed" the fans run at 1900 rpm. These are 2600 rpm fans. If I choose to use the asus speed control the fans do not speed up until my cpu hits 55C (amd 2800 cpu). Hay anyone else played with this asus feature and if so what is the trick to get max rpm from my fans ?

well, in my version of asus Q-fan, i have these settings.

    high
    medium
    low

i can specify 37c to be low, 45c medium and 55c as high temp.

i guess what you can do is, set them all to the lowest temp availble in the settings.

Do you have the latest BIOS version for your board? Maybe it was a problem that got fixed?
