Question on Windows 7 beta screen appearance.

I have the 32 bit beta of 7 on my HP DV6000 series laptop at 1280 X 800 resolution.

When using the internet, theres a blank bar of space across the top of the screen where you can see the desktop image. This area has the title of the page I'm on (Icrontic Forums) the feedback tab, and the minimize, maximize, and red X icons.

I'm hoping this is something that's only in the beta, I'm losing about 3/8" of vertical screen space at the moment.

You could just change to one of the "ease of access" themes like Classic or Basic. You could also disable transparency in colors. And you still won't get that space you are complaining about but it would look more familiar! ;)

I pressed F11. Neat, the top goes up out of the way.

    Thanks.

It's the same size as the bar you never complained about on Windows XP.

Yeah but I never noticed it on XP because the desktop background didn't show through it.

Lots more 7 questions coming if I decide to use it more........:buck:
