    Windows 7 is running on my laptop right now. It runs on old hardware. It runs on netbooks. It will not require a new computer.

    I installed Fedora 10 on my "old" GA-SIMLP 1.4GHz 512MB + 256MB Ram

    I am happy, it working so well :)

    The cheap way to get Win 7 is to get a Technet subscription from Ol' Bill. The stated price is $349.00. If you look around, you can find a promo code that still works and get anywhere from 20-25% off. It gives you 10 licenses for almost anything MS publishes including all versions of Windows, Server 2003, 2008, & Office 2003 & 2007 and lots more. The renewal is $249.00 annually but you're still getting all the "stuff". If you don't renew and wait until the next version of Windows comes out, you've still got 10 personal licenses to use until you do your next OS upgrade.
