Asus M2N61-AX Mobo mojo

I have a Dell Inspiron 531 with this motherboard in it. My processor is an Athlon64 X2 6000+ 3.0ghz dual core. What I'm wondering is whether I can put in a phenom processor or not? And what exactly is the difference between AM2 and AM2+ ?? :buck:
