Motherboard problem

Hi all,
I have an intermittent motherboard issue with my Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe.
Aprox 1 time a week upon boot-up, it will fail to see my hard drive containg my operating system, in order to get a sucessful boot, I always have to shut down, then up-plug one of my SATA devices (either a DVD Rom, or hard drive), then plug it into another SATA socket. It doesn't seem to matter which device I swap over, even unplugging and repluggind a DVD SATA will get the motherboard to see all the devices again!
All my components are compatible with this mother board, and I have gone thru all the bios flashes, and currently have the latest updates for all my devices. I have had this problem for a year now (ever sinse I built this machine), but cannot find a perminent solution.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I don't think it's a matter of a fractured motherboard, as the frequency of the problem has not increased over the past year, and I have contacted Asus to confirm the compatability of all my hardware.
My computers specs are:
Motherboard: Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe (bios version 2101)
VGA Card: Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTX, PCI-E (driver version 7.15.11.7923)
CPU: AMD Socket AM2, 6400+ Duel core Athalon
Memory: Corsair, DDR2 800MHz duel channel (4 Each X 2 GB sticks)
Operating System: Windows Vista Ultimate 64 Bit
Hard drives: Western Digital, WD7500AACS, 750 GB (2 Each)
DVD Roms: ASUS/DR W-2014L1T (2 Each)
Power supply: 900 Watts
I've tried Beta testing Windows 7 (shrank my primary hard disk, formatted partition and loaded beta version), but it makes no difference to the actual problem, although it does run my machine much better than vista ever has!
Asus want's me to load the CMOS default for a test, (which I will try), but I don't have a high expectation of this sorting out my issue.
If anyone has had a similar experience with their system, please let me know.
Many Thanks.
