MONITOR ISSUES!!

Im tyring to help my sister fix her computer monitor so i am on a different computer than the one with the problem. A couple months ago the monitor started blinking anytime she moved the mouse but it would stop when the mouse stopped. It gradually got worse to the point now where its just a black screen. Any suggestions??

    Does another monitor function correctly on her PC? Does the faulty monitor function correctly on another PC?

    I dont have an extra one to try out. The computer is not that old, would you recommend getting a new monitor?

    Can you connect her monitor to the PC you're currently using? If the problem persists, replace the monitor. If it doesn't persist, I would look at the video card as the culprit.

    Unfortunately not at the moment. I will try both though when i get a chance. I just wanted to make sure it wasnt a virus, spyware or software problem. I appreciate your help. thanks a bunch!
