Linux apps u cant live without

I am new to Linux I am dual booting with ubuntu right now, I am really digging it and want some more apps What are some you CANT live without?

    I am working on installign Wine now for my TF2 and otehr games and I did VLC

    Frozen bubble, CDemu (though mounting an iso is pretty easy in linux), i use google chrome with wine, and Amarok for mp3s and some support for older ipods.

    What distro of ubuntu did you get?

    Firefox, Thunderbird, Pidgin, OpenOffice 3, XChat, Audacious, MPlayer, Audacity, GIMP, Comix, Inkscape, SciTE.

    using ubuntu, so far i got it to do everything i want except gaming

    I've got to say it. But if you want gaming on your computer you should be running windows. You can get some games to run in linux but the big kicker is linux doesn't natively support full directx so that's a huge stumbling block.
