Audio Driver help please.
Alright, this is what happened.
My computer just wouldn't work, old virus got attached to a system 32 file, got rid of it computer go "Pllt." Re downloaded windows Xp Professional, got all the files I wanted back on to the computer all that jazz. Pop in a cd to listen to some tunes. Turns out, no sound. My speakers were correctly plugged in and everything, everything put in right. Hmmn, strange.
So, instead of immediatly asking for help, I lurk. After reading a few articles with people having the same problem, it looks as if it's an audio drive problem. Okay, no biggy, Problem is, I have no clue how to re install an audio drive, and what model sound card I have. I have the mother board information written down somewhere if that would help.
Any suggestions and such for a poor girl who knows nothing in the drives department? xD

If it's not onboard sound, you'll have to figure out what kind of sound card it is. Far as I know, there's no easy way to do this short of opening the case and looking for a model name or manufacturer on the card somewhere. Start off with what sukel suggests... if the audio plugins are on the same panel as the other stuff on the motherboard (aka where you'd plug in the keyboard / mouse) then you can get it going with motherboard drivers.
