Lately Inspirons and Vostros seem to have batteries that die in a year or so. My 6-cell is good for about 10 minutes, and my 9-cell is down to about 2/3 it's initial capacity (which thankfully is still 4 hours).

New battery time. It's over $100 from Dell, but you might be able to find a sketchier third-party Chinese replacement somewhere.

Depending on the warranty you bought, it MAY be covered. If it isn't you'll need to buy a new one. My guess one of the cells is shot and prohibiting the entire pack from recharging.

There is no universal battery that will fit all laptops. You will need to search for a battery based off the model number of your laptop and/or the battery itself.

I suggest using the IC Marketplace. Check it out.

Hey man, give me the serial number for your battery. It's twenty digits, probably going to start with JP, or KN, or something.
