I am thinking of installing Ubuntu 9.04 ( when its released in 7 days ) on my in laws PC the are having me build, All they want is to surf the web and type up some documents and print crap. I figure to get them away from the world of MS would be a good thing since all they do is seem to get viruses and crap.

I had my Pops in law try out my lapper he seemed o like it, Any hints or suggestions on what to do for them on it?

Install SteadyState Windows. Linux isn't what you give people who get viruses. If they're not savvy enough to use their computers safely, imagine how lost they'll be with Ubuntu.

well all they really do is use mozilla and use open office on their current XP machine, Its their kids who get the viruses ( hence why I am building a 2nd PC now 1 for kids and new one for parents )

I think that's a great idea. I would also set up Evolution mail client for their primary e-mail that they check and install VLC media player for occasional video's that they see on the internet.
I have one of my laptops set to load Ubuntu as the primary boot up because it load so much faster when I just need to check my blogs or e-mail.
