Building new gaming rig
Alright, so I've decided to upgrade my rig. Really, closer to buidling a new once since I'm replacing everything but the case, PSU and DVD drives.
Here are the parts I'm looking at. I think they'll go well together, but I wanted to get a second, or third, opinion.
Motherboard: evga 790i SLI
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo e8400 or e8500; is the extra .13 Mhz worth $20?
Video card: evga GTX 285 SC
RAM: Total of four gigs of Kingston HyperX
Hard drive: Western Digital Cavial black 1TB
Currently I've got an e6700, and I'm not sure if it's slowing me down or not.
I'm also looking to build something that will last a few years.
The PSU shouldn't need replacement, it's 600W.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
