Heh, that works for me in the short term. The long-term reward is that we'll hopefully start to get some realistic battery lifetime reports and/or longer actual usage.
Has anyone researched the new Lithium Titanate compounds for laptop batteries? Much higher charging capacity, speed (can charge as fast as you can drain them), and operating temperatures (tested over 150C with no ill effects).
