Joystick

edited April 2009 in Hardware
Hello,

My dad bought an old joystick at an auction with a bunch of other crap. I thought the joystick might be fun for games like ragdoll kung-fu or something like that. I plugged it in and it found it and told me it was ready to use, but none of the buttons did anything. Also, I have no idea what model it is and it just came loose in a box full of crap, so it came with no driver installation disk. Do I need to get a driver for it or is it just not compatible?

There has to be a brand name and model somewhere on the bottom, look for any numbers. Also, is it USB or gameport?

ControlPanel/Game Controllers. Do you see anything listed there when you have it plugged in? If so, go into it's properties and see if any button presses send input to it.

And like Pigflipper said, need to know if it's USB or gameport.

There's a chance that without installing some sort of drivers you're going to loose a lot of functionality with the buttons and features.
