I was playing with a program called XP lite that disables and enables WFP and lets you strip out crap you don't want or need from the XP install.

Kinda neat.

I've used this. Its a handy little app. Word of warning tho, if you use outlook and uninstall outlook express you cant download any new mail. You have to re-install outlook express again.

I removed Outlook Express before with the Add/Remove Windows componets thing and it was alreday "gone" but i use Outlook (not express) as my client. And that works still when its removed the traditional way. Maybe the tool goes a little to far when it removes Express huh? (grin)

I just removed it the normal way... another useless XP "feature" I was already flushing. Thanks for the warning though.

Anytime after its up and running. It disables/enables WFP and allows you to rip out parts of XP you usually can't.
