Is it possible to send a virus or trojan to someone's computer that can then access the sound card and built-in mic/speaker to monitor room conversations stealthily?

    Not looking to do it - trying to help a friend who believes it has been done to her as private conversations in her home had been repeated to her word for word. I don't know enough to confirm her supsiscions and just wanted to confirm if it can be done.

    In that case it can be done, and it may be. I suggest she unplug all of her microphones and webcams when they're not in use and ask this person how the hell they know about her conversations!
