It looks like an in-engine cut scene.

There is no information about it; it could be a tech demo, it could be in-game footage, it could be a cutscene, it could be a fake.

It fires up the imagination though, don't it?

I'm building a freakin' bridge with my bricks. This is unbelievable. It's hard for me to find words to describe how much I cherish Beyond Good and Evil. Seeing BGE2 in action is not only exciting and pretty, but it's a complete triumph of hope.

Years before I found Icrontic I belonged to the Beyond Good and Evil community on the Ubi boards. Those forums were small and mostly uneventful. But we were a tight group. All we wanted was to see a sequel. We wanted it, and the game deserved it. Michael Ancel wanted nothing more than to make it, but Ubi didn't see the series as profitable. Year after year we heard nothing.

That was back in 2003. I stayed on those forum for 3 years, sharing thoughts with the same 10-15 people. We were a hopeful group, we never gave up on a sequel. We put together so many fan projects - films, games, websites, music. We had petitions, sales figures, leaked and unfinished assets, community efforts to spread the word of that great game. Almost every one of us had purchased multiple copies of the game. We did every single thing we possibly could to promote the game and send a message to Ubi that they needed to make the sequel. In some cases, we managed to speak directly with them. No matter, they did not care about us or the IP.

The community suffered as a result. We watched Ubi develop Prince of persia after Prince of Persia each year, king kong the FPS, Rayman Raving Rabids, the projects continued and no word on BGE2. With no new news regarding the game we loved we became discouraged and started to dwindle. Members started to abandon the forums. But our worlds were changing. Some moved onto other games, some to military service, some started new lives. I had just started my internship at the TV station and was working 2 other jobs that summer of 06. I didn't have time for grassroots efforts to promote a video game. I also began to see the efforts as futile, so many years with no positive response. I eventually left the forums, they had become a stagnate wasteland of despair.

There were a lot of good friends that disappeared into the massive void of the internet. When I go back and lurk at the current state of the forums, I see the same old moderator, and perhaps a member or two I recognize. Outside of those however are a few new members with nothing to talk about. At least, not until the sequel was finally announced.

It's tragic, that community never came back together once that end goal was finally realized. We all burned out and moved on. But man am I fired up. I am so excited for this sequel... The series means a ton to me, ranking easily in the top of my list of favorite games.

I gave up on Ubisoft, but I never gave up on Michael Ancel. So glad to see he finally gets to make the game he's wanted to for years. And so far, it looks like he's going all the way with it.

It's beyond Good & Evil 2? I would have never guess that. I stumbled on Beyond Good & Evil 1 by accident. It wasn't my type of usual game but there was something addictive about it. This trailer though shows a Beyond Good & Evil all grown up. I'm looking forward to it.
