hard drive not booting

My hard drive is not booting all i get after Dell Icon is blinking cursor but when i use Active Disk Boot CD i can see the content of the hard drive.

Please help anybody.

    Hi Adewua,

    Welcome to Icorntic.

    I am a relative novice here so someone else will correct me if I am wrong.

    It sounds like your PC is posting as you can boot from your cd. This in my mind rules out your core system components as being faulty. I suspect that either your OS has corrupted or your HD is dying. If it always happens at the same point I suspect that it is software related.

    Can you please let us have your system spec, whether it is a home build or OEM and what you were doing prior to your problem (ie have you dropped the PC were you installing some new software etc)

    Have you changed the boot priority in the BIOS or did you change anything in the BIOS that had to do with IDE or SATA or RAID.
