Yep, Looks like the same deal except it advertises a 6 cell battery.
    Mine is 9 cell.
Yes, I got the new laptop. Been using it for a week now.
After cleaning most of the garbage/ bloatware/ try this for 30 days then buy it crap, etc off the hard drive it runs great.
Very smooth and fast. I'm very pleased with it.
Oh, And I forgot to mention the MSI has bluetooth.
    The Toshiba does not.
Over all, I'm very happy with the new laptop.
It's also upgradable for the future too.
It will take a higher CPU and the graphics card is replaceable.
I also like that it has Turbo and Power Saver modes.

what kind of bloatware you have to remove/get rid of? I gather the notebook comes in with Vista. did you downgrade to XP?

I think I XP is still favored in many circles.

Got rid of 4 mnth trial of Norton system suite which really slows down a laptop.
Installed Avast & Threatfire. Both free and much lighter footprint.

    Got rid of Adobe Reader
Installed my full version of Foxit Reader.

Got rid of Adobe flash player
    Installed Macromedia-flashplayer

Got rid of MS Office 90 day trial
Installed MS Office 2007 my full version.

There was a couple other things I removed, but can't remember now.. lol
Been working on installing software in the desktops at the same time.
I also spent some time turning off startup programs that run in the background.
I think there were something like 18-20 in startup.
I cut that to 6-7 startups.
Still running Windows Vista Home Premium.
I tried Vista beta versions on one desktop but never loaded the full version when it came out after all the problems everyone had.
So for the laptop being separate from my home network, I figured I'd try it and see how I liked it.
It's not bad, but I'm beta testing Win 7 on 2 pc's (dual boot) and really like it compared to XP or Vista.
So I'll be putting Win 7 on all of my systems when it comes out.

Um... how is Adobe Reader bloatware? I can understand it that if you like the other reader....

    um, doesn't Adobe own macromedia?

I don't care for most of Adobe's software.
Adobe software auto sets to be in the startup/background running.. uses resources.
To much auto updates with pop up windows asking to get the latest update on the reader, flash player, shockwave player. Annoying.
I used to have family and friends I build/upgrade pc's for, calling all the time about Adobe pop ups asking to update. Got tired of it.
Replaced Adobe reader because I don't like it and I have paid full version of Foxit.
I can now make or edit PDF files.
Sorry, meant I got rid of Adobe flash player which is Macromedia flash player and installed VlC media player.
VLC player nows supports Windows Media Video 9 and Flash Video.

On the Newegg page, I noticed the pics that show the MSI laptop comes with a back pack along with some accessories.

Did you get the backpack & the accessories relating to power hook up?

It does look like I'll be getting the same laptop you're getting. It does appear to have the right mix of stuff for a good price. I prolly will order it either Thursday or Friday.

I think you picked out a cooler for the laptop, how is that one working out?
