I have now mounted my SLK-947U
It wasn't all that hard.
I tightened the screws pretty good, but I didn't break anything.
I had to move a metal mobo standoff as well, it was interferring with the bracket on the back.
ABIT Eq reports 35.5 degrees C with during intense Folding.
My temp was 51 before.
Here is the stepping on my 1800+
AXDA1800DUT3C 9583596260058
JIUHB0306UPMW
It is a retail T-Bred
I need to repair the Smart fan though.
The connector for the pot meter fell of.
It wasn't really attached, I do not want to return it.
They are most likely out of stock, and it is an easy repair.
But geez it is loud, compared to my older fan.
Which for some reason refused to work on the SLK.
I took it off the Silent Viking, put it on the SLK.
The fan did not spin when I turned the machine on.
I tried three other fans, they worked fíne.
Dunno what I did to it?

I went to an SP94 on my P4 and actually went up in temps, but way quiter. I was just upset that I couldn't get it fastened right to the tray, and was only able to get it fastened to the back of the board with their X bracket.
But you can see the difference.
I never had the cpu out of the board, during installation.
I only applied a new layer of AS3.
You shouldn't be upset because you couldn't fasten it to the tray.
In the reviews I have read they feared that the heatsink would fall right off the socket.
They pointed out that the mounting mechanism wasn't very secure.
I presume that it would be even worse if you moved the rig with it mounted onto the tray.
I opted for the U model because the 900A didn't seem secure.
I then switched my focus to the 947U, but that is another story.
And I do not feel safe with 550 grammes hanging from the plastic socket.
I had to feed it more Vcore to get it to 2.2 Ghz.
Currently at 2.2 Ghz (200x11) at 1.8 Vcore (real vcore 1.78)
I do not think there is much more in this chip.
I haven't OC'ed the memory yet.
Bah I want an unlocked Barton.
