MSI K8TNeo sata 3 drivers?

I've got my MSI K8TNeo MB/AMD Athlon 64 3400+ ClawHammer CPU
with the main drive> 1X WD 36G SATA Raptor-Win XP /
backup > 1X WD 160G SATA- Win 7.
I disconnected the backup drive and replaced it with my new Velociraptor 150G 3.0 sata which only has sata & firewire looking power connector.
I hooked just the sata to the new drive and it doesn't read it.
Hooked up sata and firewire looking power connector. Doesn't read it.
Tried manage drives and search for new hardware. Nothing.
Went into bios setup and it doesn't read it there either.
Doesn't see it on boot up either.
Only the 36G raptor.
Is there something I'm doing wrong? Or does this MB not read sata 3.0?
Do I need to get some new sata 3.0 drivers for this system?
I'm at a loss.
Put the 160 sata back in and it comes up fine with Win 7 on it.
The bios boot gives me a chice of Win 7 or earlier version of Windows-- Win XP.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

There's no such thing as a 3.0 driver to my knowledge; if the board can only read the SATA I speed, there's usually a jumper on the hard drive to tell it whether to use SATA I or II. Check that, and put it to 1 and see if it shows up.

I didn't think there was any such thing.
Figured I better ask just in case. lol
That's definitely something that could be over looked.
No sata I or sata II jumper that I can find.
It does have the primary, secondary, etc standard jumper pins which I tried too.
Put it on the first drive sata cable and set the jumper to primary same as the 36G raptor that was there.. No go.
Put it on the secondary sata cable for an empty backup with jumper same as backup sata 160G that was there. No go.
Even tried it in both places with no jumper as it came. No go.
It locked up my pc every time I hooked it up.
It wouldn't read at all in bios or raid array.
Tried to see if it would define it in the sata raid array. No go.
    Drive was DOA.
RMA'd it and will get replacement this next week.
Thnx for the input though Snark. Always appreciate ideas.
